He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ablution (wudu) on Friday, then that is good and excellent; but whoever performs Ghusl, then Ghusl is better." Narrated by al-Nasa'i and al-Tirmidhi (4), who said: It is a hasan (good) hadith. Also, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Whoever performs ablution, doing it well, then comes to the Friday prayer, listens and remains silent, he will be forgiven for what is between him and the Friday prayer, plus an extra three days. And whoever touches the pebbles has engaged in a futile act." Agreed upon (5). Furthermore, it is a consensus (ijma'), for 'Umar said to 'Uthman: 'What time is this?'
