pray in the mosque until he departs, then he would pray two rak'ahs in his house. This indicates that whatever of these actions he performs, it is considered good. Ahmad said, in the narration of Ubayd Allah: If one prays with the Imam and then does not pray anything until he performs the Asr prayer, it is permissible. Imran ibn Husayn has done this. And he said, in the narration of Abu Dawud: It pleases me that he prays, meaning after the Jumu'ah.

Section: As for the prayer before Jumu'ah, I do not know of anything regarding it except what was narrated: that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to perform four rak'ahs before Jumu'ah. Ibn Majah recorded it (20). Amr ibn Sa'id ibn al-As narrated from his father, who said: I used to meet the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and when the sun declined, they would stand and pray four. Abu Bakr said: We would be with Habib ibn Abi Thabit on Jumu'ah, and he would say: Has the sun declined yet? [Or he would turn and look] (22), and when the sun declined, he would pray the four that are before the Jumu'ah. And from Abu Ubaydah, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, that he used to pray four rak'ahs before Jumu'ah and four rak'ahs after it. Sa'id recorded it (23).

When he entered, he sent for me and said: Do not return to what you have done. When you have prayed
