A similar report is narrated from Jabir, and both are agreed upon (3). Jabir ibn Samura said: "I prayed the Eid prayer with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, more than once or twice, without Adhan or Iqamah." Narrated by Muslim (4). From 'Ata', who said: Jabir informed me that there is no Adhan on the day of Fitr when (5) the Imam exits, nor after the Imam exits, nor is there an Iqamah, nor a call, nor anything; no (6) call on that day, and no Iqamah. Narrated by Muslim (7). Some of our companions said: One should call for it, "Al-salatu jami'ah" (prayer is gathering). This is also the opinion of al-Shafi'i. However, the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is more worthy to be followed.

304 - Issue: He said: (And he recites in every rak'ah of it [al-Fatihah] and a surah, and recites aloud)

We know of no disagreement among the people of knowledge that it is legislated to recite the Fatihah and a surah in every rak'ah of the Eid prayer, and that it is recommended to recite aloud, except that it was narrated from 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, that when he read during the two Eids, he would make those near him hear it, but would not recite aloud with that [full] loudness (1). Ibn al-Mundhir said: Most people of knowledge are of the opinion that one should recite aloud. Furthermore, in the reports of those who narrated the Prophet's—peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—recitation...
