to soothe her heart and fulfill her request, not because it was obligatory upon her. Furthermore, even if the Umrah of Qiran did not suffice her, the Umrah from the nearest hill (adna al-hill) would have sufficed her, which is one of the points we intended to demonstrate. This is because the obligation is for one Umrah, and she performed it correctly, so it suffices her, just like the Umrah of the mutamatti' (30). Moreover, the Umrah of the qarin is one of the two rituals of Qiran, so it suffices, just as Hajj suffices. Since Hajj from Makkah suffices for the mutamatti', then Umrah from the nearest hill for the mufrid (one performing individual Hajj) is even more appropriate. If a solitary tawaf suffices for the Umrah for the Meccan, then it is even more appropriate that an Umrah which includes tawaf and other acts should suffice.

Section: There is no harm in performing Umrah multiple times within a year. This has been narrated from Ali, Ibn Umar, Ibn Abbas, Anas, Aisha, Ata', Tawus, Ikrimah, and al-Shafi'i. Al-Hasan, Ibn Sirin, and Malik disliked performing Umrah twice in a year. Al-Nakha'i said: "They used to perform Umrah only once a year, and because the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not do it." Our evidence is that Aisha performed Umrah twice in one month by the command of the Prophet (peace be upon him): one Umrah with her Qiran, and another Umrah after her Hajj (31). Also, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "An Umrah to another Umrah is an expiation for what is between them." (Agreed upon) (32). He said
