Section: If one performs tawaf over the wall of the Hijr or the shadharwan of the Ka'bah—which is what projects from its wall—it is invalid, because that is part of the House, and if he does not perform tawaf around it, he has not performed tawaf around the entire House; and because (7) the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed tawaf from behind that.
Section: If one reverses the tawaf, placing the House on his right, it does not suffice him. This is the opinion of Malik and al-Shafi'i. Abu Hanifah said: He repeats what he is still in Mecca for, and if he has returned, he compensates for it with a blood sacrifice (dam), because he omitted a mode (hay'ah) that does not prevent validity, just as if he were to omit the ramal (brisk walking) and the idtiba' (uncovering the right shoulder). Our argument is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, placed the House on his left during tawaf, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Take your rituals from me." Furthermore, it is an act of worship related to the House, so the order in it is mandatory, like prayer; and what they drew an analogy to differs from what we have mentioned, just as the rulings on the mode of prayer and its order differ.
619 - Issue: He said: (And he prays two rak'ahs behind the Maqam [Station of Abraham]).
All of this implies that it is Sunnah for the one performing tawaf to pray two rak'ahs after finishing, and it is recommended that he perform them behind the Maqam, due to the saying of the Almighty: {And take from the Station of Abraham a place of prayer} (1). It is recommended to recite in them {Say, "O disbelievers"} in the first, and {Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One"} in the second, for Jabir narrated in the description of the Hajj of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: Until we came to the House with him, he touched the Corner, performed ramal for three [laps], walked four, then proceeded (2) to the Station of Abraham and recited: {And take from the Station of Abraham a place of prayer}, and he placed the Maqam between himself and the House. Muhammad ibn 'Ali (3) said: I do not know him to have mentioned it except from the Prophet

فصل: ولو طَافَ على جِدَارِ الحِجْرِ، وشَاذَرْوَانِ الكَعْبَةِ، وهو ما فَضَلَ من حَائِطِها، لم يَجُزْ؛ لأنَّ ذلك من البَيْتِ، فإذا لم يَطُفْ به، فلم يَطُفْ بكلِّ البَيْتِ؛ ولأنَّ (٧) النَّبِىَّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- طَافَ مِن وَرَاءِ ذلك.
فصل: ولو نَكَسَ الطَّوَافَ، فجَعَلَ البَيْتَ على يَمِينِه، لم يُجْزِئْهُ. وبه قال مالِكٌ، والشَّافِعِىُّ. وقال أبو حنيفةَ: يُعِيدُ ما كان بمَكَّةَ، فإن رَجَعَ جَبَرَهُ بِدَمٍ؛ لأنَّه تَرَكَ هَيْئَةً فلم تَمْنَع الإجْزَاءَ، كما لو تَرَكَ الرَّمَلَ والاضْطِبَاعَ. ولَنا، أنَّ النَّبِىَّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- جَعَلَ البَيْتَ فى الطَّوَافِ على يَسَارِه، وقال عليه السَّلَامُ: "لِتَأْخُذُوا عَنِّى مَنَاسِكَكُمْ". ولأنَّها عِبَادَةٌ مُتَعَلِّقَةٌ بِالْبَيْتِ، فكان التَّرْتِيبُ فيها وَاجِبًا كالصلاةِ، وما قَاسُوا عليه مُخَالِفٌ لما ذَكَرْنَا، كما اخْتَلَفَ حُكْمُ هَيْئَةِ الصلاةِ وتَرْتِيبِها.
٦١٩ - مسألة؛ قال: (ويُصَلِّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خلْفَ الْمَقَامِ)
وجُمْلَةُ ذلك أنَّه يُسَنُّ لِلطَّائِفِ أن يُصَلِّىَ بعدَ فَرَاغِه رَكْعتَيْنِ، ويُسْتَحَبُّ أن يَرْكَعَهُما خَلْفَ المَقَامِ؛ لِقَوْلِه تعالى: {وَاتَّخِذُواْ مِنْ مَقَامِ إبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلَّى} (١). ويُسْتَحَبُّ أن يَقْرَأَ فيهما {قُلْ يَاأَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ} فى الأُولَى، و {قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ} فى الثانية، فإنَّ جَابِرًا رَوَى فى صِفَةِ حَجَّةِ النَّبِىِّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ-، قال: حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا البَيْتَ معه، اسْتَلَمَ الرُّكْنَ، فرَمَلَ ثَلَاثًا، ومَشَى أرْبعًا، ثم نَفَذَ (٢) إلى مَقَامِ إبْرَاهِيمَ، فقَرَأ: {وَاتّخِذُواْ مِنْ مَقَامِ إبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلَّى} فجَعَلَ المَقَامَ بينه وبين البَيْتِ. قال محمدُ بن علىٍّ (٣): ولا أعْلَمُهُ إلَّا ذَكَرَهُ عن النَّبِىِّ
