He departed before the sun rose, having al-Fadl ibn Abbas ride behind him. He was a man with beautiful hair, fair-skinned, and handsome. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) departed, some women riding on camels passed by, and al-Fadl began to look at them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) placed his hand on al-Fadl's face. [Al-Fadl] turned his face to the other side to look, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) moved his hand from the other side onto al-Fadl's face. He then turned his face from the other side to look again, until he reached the valley of Muhassir, where he quickened his pace slightly. Then he took the middle road that leads out to the Greater Jamrah, until he reached the Jamrah that is by the tree. He threw seven pebbles at it, reciting the Takbir with each of them, like the pebbles used in pebble-throwing (al-khadhf). He threw them from the bottom of the valley. Then he turned to the place of sacrifice (al-manhar) and slaughtered sixty-three camels with his own hand. Then he gave them to Ali, who slaughtered the remaining ones, and he included him in his sacrifice. Then he ordered a piece (bid'ah) from every camel, which was put into a pot and cooked, and they both ate from its meat and drank its broth. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mounted his ride and performed the circumambulation (ifadah) to the House (the Kaaba), and prayed Dhuhr in Mecca. He then came to the sons of Abd al-Muttalib, who were drawing water at Zamzam, and said, "Draw water, O sons of Abd al-Muttalib; for were it not for the fear that the people would overwhelm you in your watering task, I would have drawn it with you." They handed him a bucket, and he drank from it. Ata said: The residence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Mina was at al-Khayf.

632- Issue: He said: (And when it is the Day of Tarwiyah, he enters into the state of Ihram for Hajj and proceeds to Mina.)

The Day of Tarwiyah is the eighth day of Dhu-l-Hijjah. It was so named because they used to provide themselves with water (tarawwaw) on that day, preparing it for the day of Arafah.

فدَفَعَ قبلَ أن تَطْلُعَ الشمسُ، وأرْدَفَ الفَضْلَ بن عَبَّاسٍ، وكان رَجُلًا حَسَنَ الشَّعْرِ، أبيضَ، وَسِيمًا، فلمَّا دَفَعَ رسولُ اللهِ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- مَرَّتْ به ظُعُنٌ يجْرِينَ، فطَفِقَ الفَضْلُ يَنْظُرُ إليهنَّ، فوَضَعَ رسولُ اللهِ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- يَدَه على وَجْهِ الفَضْلِ، [فحَوَّلَ الفَضْلُ] (١٠) وَجْهَهُ إلى الشِّقِّ الآخَرِ يَنْظُرُ، فحَوَّلَ رسولُ اللهِ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- يَدَه من الشِّقِّ الآخَرِ على وَجْهِ الفَضْلِ، فصَرَفَ وَجْهَه مِن الشِّقِّ الآخَرِ يَنْظُرُ، حتَّى أتَى بَطْنَ مُحَسِّرٍ، فحَرَّكَ قليلًا، ثمَّ سَلَكَ الطَّرِيقَ الوُسْطَى التى تَخْرُجُ على (١١) الجَمْرَةِ الكُبْرَى، حتَّى أَتَى الجَمْرَةَ التى عندَ الشَّجَرَةِ، فرَماها بِسَبْعِ حَصَياتٍ، يُكَبِّرُ مع كلِّ حَصاةٍ منها مثل حَصَى الخَذْفِ (١٢)، رَمَى من بَطْنِ الوَادِى، ثمَّ انْصَرَفَ إلى المَنْحَرِ، فنَحَرَ ثَلَاثًا وسِتِّينَ بَدَنَةً بِيَدِه (١٣)، ثمَّ أعْطَى عليًّا فنَحَرَ ما غَبَرَ (١٤)، وأَشْرَكَهُ فى هَدْيِه، ثمَّ أمَرَ من كلِّ بَدَنَةٍ بِبَضْعَةٍ (١٥) فَجُعِلَتْ فى قِدْرٍ، فطُبِخَتْ فأَكَلَا من لَحْمِها وشَرِبَا من مَرَقِها، ثمَّ رَكِبَ رسولُ اللَّه -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ-، فأفاضَ إلى البَيْتِ، فصَلَّى بمَكَّةَ الظهرَ، فأتَى بنى عبدِ المُطَّلِبِ وهما يَسْقُونَ على زَمْزَم، فقال: "انْزِعُوا بَنِى عَبْدِ المُطَّلِبِ، فَلَوْلَا أنْ يَغْلِبَكُم النَّاسُ عَلَى سِقَايَتِكُم لَنَزَعْتُ مَعَكُمْ". فنَاوَلُوهُ دلْوًا، فَشَرِبَ منه. قال عَطاءٌ: كان مَنْزِلُ النَّبِيِّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- بِمِنًى بِالْخَيفِ.

٦٣٢ - مسألة؛ قال: (وَإذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ، أهَلَّ بِالْحَجِّ، ومَضَى إلَى مِنًى)

يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ: اليَوْمُ الثَّامِنُ من ذِى الحِجَّةِ. سُمِّىَ (١) بذلك لأنَّهم كانوا يَتَرَوَّوْنَ
