in this regard, there is no disagreement. Ibn al-Mundhir said: Everyone we know of from the scholars has reached consensus that whoever [attains the standing] (40) at Arafah while not in a state of purity is considered to have attained the Hajj, and there is nothing upon him. In the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to Aisha: "Do what the pilgrim does, except for the circumambulation of the House (42)," there is evidence that standing at Arafah while in a state of impurity is permissible, and Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) stood there while in a state of menstruation by the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). However, it is recommended to be in a state of purity. Ahmad said: It is recommended for him to witness all the rituals while in a state of ablution. Ata used to say: One should not perform any of the rituals except while in a state of ablution.
637 - Issue; He said: (So when the Imam departs, he shall depart with him to Muzdalifah).
The Imam here is the governor who has charge of the Hajj affairs on behalf of the Imam (the leader). It is not appropriate for people to depart until he departs. Ahmad said: It does not please me that he should depart except with the Imam. He was asked about a man who departed before the Imam after sunset, and he said: I have not found anyone who deems this easy; they all treat it with severity. Thus, the recommended action is to wait until the Imam departs, then proceed toward Muzdalifah with tranquility and dignity, due to the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when he departed, having pulled the bridle of his she-camel, Qaswa, until its head touched the pommel of his saddle, while he said with his right hand: "O people, tranquility, tranquility." This is in the hadith of Jabir (2). It is narrated from (3) Ibn Abbas that he departed with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the day of Arafah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard severe shouting and the beating of camels behind him, so he signaled to them with his whip and said: "O people, you must have tranquility, for righteousness is not through driving the camels fast."

في ذلك خِلَافًا. قال ابنُ المُنْذِرِ: أجْمَعَ كُلُّ مَن نَحْفَظُ عنه من أهْلِ العِلْمِ، على أنَّ مَن [أدْرَكَ الوُقُوفَ] (٤٠) بِعَرَفَةَ غيرَ طاهِرٍ، مُدْرِكٌ لِلْحَجِّ. ولا شىءَ عليه. وفى قَوْلِ النَّبِىِّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- لعائشةَ: "افْعَلِى مَا يَفْعَلُ (٤١) الْحَاجُّ غَيْرَ الطَّوَافِ بِالْبَيْتِ" (٤٢). دَلِيلٌ على أنَّ الوُقُوفَ بِعَرَفَةَ على غيرِ طهارةٍ جائِزٌ، ووقفتْ عائشةُ، رَضِىَ اللَّه عنها، بها حائِضًا بِأمْرِ النَّبِىِّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ-. ويُسْتَحَبُّ أن يكونَ طَاهِرًا. قال أحمدُ: يُسْتَحَبُّ له أن يَشْهَدَ المَناسِكَ كلَّها على وضُوءٍ، كان عَطاءٌ يقولُ: لا يَقْضِى شيئا من المناسِكِ إلَّا على وضُوءٍ.
٦٣٧ - مسألة؛ قال: (فَإذَا دَفَعَ الْإِمَامُ، دَفَعَ مَعَهُ إلَى مُزْدَلِفَةَ)
الإِمامُ هاهُنا الوَالِى الذي إليه أمْرُ الحَجِّ من قِبَلِ الإِمامِ. ولا يَنْبَغِى لِلنَّاسِ أن يَدْفَعُوا حتى يَدْفَعَ. قال أحمدُ: ما يُعْجِبُنِى أن يَدْفَعَ إلَّا مع الإِمامِ. وسُئِلَ عن رَجُلٍ دَفَعَ قبلَ الإِمامِ بعدَ غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ، فقال: ما وَجَدْتُ عن أحَدٍ أنَّه سَهَّلَ فيه، كُلُّهم يُشَدِّدُ فيه. فالمُسْتَحَبُّ أن يَقِفَ حتى يَدْفَعَ الإِمامُ، ثم يَسِيرَ نحوَ المُزْدَلِفَةِ على سَكِينَةٍ ووَقَارٍ؛ لِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- حين دَفعَ، وقد شَنَقَ لِنَاقَتِهِ (١) القَصْواءِ بِالزِّمامِ، حتى إنَّ رَأْسَها لَيُصِيبُ مَوْرِكَ رَحْلِه، ويقولُ بِيَدِه اليُمْنَى: "أيُّهَا النَّاسُ، السَّكِينَةَ السَّكِينَةَ". هذا في حديثِ جابِرٍ (٢)، وَرُوِىَ عن (٣) ابنِ عَبّاسٍ، أنَّه دَفَعَ مع النَّبِيِّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- يومَ عَرَفَةَ، فسَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ -صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ- ورَاءَه زَجْرًا شَدِيدًا وضَرْبًا لِلْإِبِلِ، فأشارَ بسَوْطِه إليهم، وقال: "أيُّهَا النَّاسُ، عَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةَ، فَإنَّ الْبِرَّ لَيْسَ
