(Muttafaq 'alayh) (8). From Salim, from his father, who said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab said: When you have thrown the pebbles at the Jamrah, sacrificed, and shaved, then everything has become lawful for you, except for perfume and women. 'Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: I was the one who applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). [The Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is more deserving to be followed] (9). Recorded by Sa'id (10). From Umm Salamah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said on the Day of Sacrifice: "This is a day on which it is permitted for you [in it, when you] (11) have thrown the pebbles, to enter the state of halal (permitted status)," meaning from everything you were prohibited from, "except for women." Recorded by Abu Dawud (12). From 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas, that he said: When you have thrown the pebbles at the Jamrah, then everything has become lawful for you, except women. A man asked him: "And perfume?" He replied: "As for me, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) rubbing his head with musk; is that perfume or not?" Recorded by Ibn Majah (13). Malik said: Women, perfume, and killing game are not lawful for him, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted: {Do not kill game while you are in the state of ihram} (14). This is prohibited. We have already mentioned what refutes this view and prevents [the ruling] that he is still a Muhrim (in the state of ihram), as only some rulings of ihram remain.

Section: The apparent meaning of al-Khiraqi's words here is that the state of halal is only achieved by both throwing the pebbles and shaving together. This is one of two narrations from Ahmad, and the view of al-Shafi'i and the People of Opinion (Ashab al-Ra'y); this is due to the statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "If you have thrown the pebbles and shaved, then perfume, clothing, and everything else have become lawful for you, except women" (15).
