Ibn Umar said: We used to watch for the sun to pass the meridian, then we would throw. Any time he throws after the meridian, it is sufficient for him, but it is recommended to hasten to it when the meridian is reached, as Ibn Umar said. Ibn Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to throw at the Jamarat when the sun passed the meridian, [taking] an amount of time such that when he finished his throwing, he would pray Dhuhr. Narrated by Ibn Majah (17).
Section: Ordering these Jamarat is obligatory, according to what we have mentioned. If he reverses them, starting with Jamrat al-Aqaba, then (18) the second, then the first, or starts (18) with the middle one and throws at the three, it is not sufficient for him except for the first one, and he must repeat the middle and the farthest one. Ahmad stated this explicitly. If he throws at the farthest, then the first, then the middle, he must repeat the farthest one alone. Malik and al-Shafi'i held this view. Al-Hasan and Ata' said: Ordering is not obligatory. This is also the view of Abu Hanifa; for he said: If he throws in reverse, he should repeat it, but if he does not (19), it is sufficient for him. Some of them argued based on what was narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that he said: "Whoever performs a ritual before another ritual, there is no harm" (20). Also, because they are repeated rituals in separate places at one time, one is not dependent on another, so order is not stipulated for them, like throwing and slaughtering. Our evidence is that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) observed the order in throwing and said: "Take your rituals from me" (21). And because it is a repeated ritual, order is stipulated in it, like Sa'i (the ritual walk). Their hadith only applies to someone who performs one ritual before another, not to someone who performs one part of a ritual before another (22). Their analogy is invalidated by Tawaf and Sa'i.
