the Almighty: {And He has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty} [Quran 22:78] (94). As for the verse, what is meant by it is guidance toward preserving wealth and instruction, just as He commanded the pledge and the scribe; it is not obligatory, and this is manifest.

Section: It is disliked (makruh) to buy and sell in the mosque. Ishaq also held this view, due to what Abu Hurayrah narrated, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If you see someone selling or buying in the mosque, say: 'May Allah not grant profit to your trade,' and if you see someone inquiring about a lost item in the mosque, say: 'May Allah not return it (95) to you.'" Reported by al-Tirmidhi (96), who said: A hasan gharib (good but singular) hadith. Furthermore, mosques were not built for this. 'Imran al-Qasir (97) saw a man selling in the mosque and said: "This is the market of the Afterlife; if you desire trade, go out to the market of the worldly life." If he does sell, the sale is valid, because the sale was completed with its pillars and conditions, and no invalidating factor has been proven. Disliking it does not necessitate invalidity, just like deception (ghish) in a sale, or concealment (tadlis), or withholding milk in the udder (tasriyah). The Prophet's (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) statement, "Say: 'May Allah not grant profit to your trade,'" without informing [the person] of the invalidity of the sale, is evidence of its validity. And Allah knows best.
