all of which is permissible, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) hired [Abu Tayyibah, and he performed cupping on him] (36). Ahmad also said, in a narration from Ibn Mansur, regarding a man who hires (37) himself out to supervise a Christian's vineyard (38): That is disliked, because the origin of that leads back to wine.

Section: It is disliked for a man to hire himself out to clean privies, and it is disliked for him to consume the wages from it; because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The earnings of a cupper are impure (khabith)" (39). He forbade the free man from consuming them, so this is even more deserving of prohibition. It has been narrated from Ibn Abbas that a man performed Hajj, then came to him and said (40): "I am a man who cleans, so what is your opinion regarding my earnings?" He asked, "What kind of things do you clean?" The man replied, "Excrement." He said, "And from it you performed Hajj, and from it you got married?" The man replied, "Yes." He said, "You are impure, your Hajj is impure, and what you used for marriage is impure," or words to that effect. Said ibn Mansur mentioned it in his "Sunan" with its meaning, and because
