And I came while she had cast off her garments for sleep, besides the garment of one who is relaxed (32).

And from such as this, the extremities and the hair appear; so he used to see her in that state because she considered him a son. Then the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him - guided them to that through which they could sustain what they had been considering and practicing. Al-Shafi'i narrated in his "Musnad" (33) from Zaynab bint Abi Salamah that she was breastfed by Asma', the wife of al-Zubayr. She said: I used to view him as a father, and he would enter upon me while I was combing my hair, so he would take some of my braids and say: Turn towards me. And because taking precautions against this is not possible, it is permitted just like the face. What does not usually appear is not permitted; because there is no need that calls for looking at it, and desire and the commitment of forbidden acts cannot be ruled out along with it, so looking at it is prohibited, just like what is below the navel.

Section: And one's unmarriageable kin (mahram) are: everyone whom marriage to is forbidden (34) permanently, by blood relation, breastfeeding, or the prohibition of marriage due to affinity based on a permissible reason; due to what we mentioned of the hadith of Salim and Zaynab. From 'A'ishah, that Aflah, the brother of Abu al-Qays, asked for permission to enter upon her after the hijab was revealed. She refused to give him permission, so the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him - said: "Give him permission, for he is your paternal uncle; may your right hand be covered in dust [agreed upon] (35)." Allah the Exalted has mentioned the fathers of their husbands and the sons of their husbands, just as He mentioned their fathers and their sons regarding the display of adornment before them. Ahmad hesitated regarding looking at the hair of one's mother-in-law and her daughter; because they are not mentioned in the verse.
