571 - Abu Bakr informed us, saying: I heard Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] say: "If you find a Kufan who is intelligent and religious, you will see him as the singular person among the people; he has excelled the people." And he said: "They are the people of the Qur'an."
