624 - Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Sadaqah informed me, saying: al-'Abbas narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me, saying: al-Awza'i narrated to us, saying: al-Zuhri narrated to me, saying: Abu Salamah and al-Dahhak ibn Muzahim—so he said, though it is actually al-Dahhak al-Mashriqi—narrated to me, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri. The hadith is long and contains the story of Dhu al-Thudayyah and the statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding him. Abu Sa'id said: 'I bear witness that I heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and I bear witness that I was with 'Ali when he killed them; he was sought among the slain and was brought forth matching the description that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had given.'
٦٢٤ - أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ: ثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، وَالضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، كَذَا قَالَ، وَإِنَّمَا ⦗٤١٨⦘ هُوَ الضَّحَّاكُ الْمِشْرَقِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، الْحَدِيثُ طَوِيلٌ فِيهِ قِصَّةُ ذِي الثُّدَيَّةِ، وَقَوْلُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ، قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: أَشْهَدُ لَسَمِعْتُ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي كُنْتُ مَعَ عَلِيٍّ حِينَ قَتَلَهُمْ، وَالْتُمِسَ فِي الْقَتْلَى فَأُتِيَ بِهِ عَلَى النَّعْتِ الَّذِي نَعَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "
