Ya'qub ibn Sufyan informed us, saying: Abu 'Asim narrated to us, from Ibn 'Ajlan, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was asked: "Which of the people is the best?" He said: "I and those who are with me." It was said: "Then who?" He said: "Those who are on the path [al-athar]." It was said: "Then who?" He said: "Those who are on the path." Then he discarded them [from the ranking] in the fourth instance."
