729 - It was read to 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad, who said: My father narrated to me, saying: Sufyan narrated to us, saying: Mansur ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, saying: Al-Sha'bi said: "None of the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, witnessed the Battle of the Camel except for 'Ali, 'Ammar, Talhah, and al-Zubayr. If they claim that there was a fifth, then I am a liar."
٧٢٩ - قُرِئَ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ: ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ: «لَمْ يَشْهَدِ الْجَمَلَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ غَيْرُ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَمَّارٍ، وَطَلْحَةَ، وَالزُّبَيْرِ، فَإِنْ جَاوَزُوا بِخَامِسٍ فَأَنَا كَذَّابٌ»
