731 - Muhammad ibn Abi Harun informed me that Ishaq narrated to them, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah said to me: "Masruq did not witness the Battle of the Camel, nor did Murrah. As for Murrah, he departed for Daylam and did not witness the Battle of the Camel." Then he said: "As for the people of Kufa, if they were able to smear everyone, they would have done so."
٧٣١ - أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي هَارُونَ، أَنَّ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ: قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: " لَمْ يَشْهَدْ مَسْرُوقٌ الْجَمَلَ، وَلَا مُرَّةَ، أَمَا مُرَّةُ فَلَحِقَ بِالدَّيْلَمِ وَلَمْ يَشْهَدِ الْجَمَلَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَمَّا أَهْلُ الْكُوفَةِ فَلَوْ قَدَرُوا أَنْ يُلَطِّخُوا كُلَّ أَحَدٍ لَفَعَلُوا "
