763 - Ahmad ibn Muhammad informed us, saying: Abu Talib narrated to us, saying: I asked Abu Abd Allah: "Is Bara'ah (disavowal) an innovation, and is Wilayah (partial allegiance) an innovation, and is Shahadah (testifying that one is in the Fire) an innovation?" He said: "Bara'ah is for you to disavow any one of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace; Wilayah is for you to show allegiance to some and abandon others; and Shahadah is for you to testify against someone that they are in the Fire."
