1033 - Muhammad ibn al-Husayn informed us that al-Fadl narrated to them, saying: I heard Abu 'Abd Allah being asked about the decrease of faith (iman), so he said: Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Hisham ibn 'Urwah, from his father, who said: "A servant's trustworthiness never decreases but that his faith decreases as well."
١٠٣٣ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، أَنَّ الْفَضْلَ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ سُئِلَ عَنْ نُقْصَانِ الْإِيمَانِ، فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: «مَا نَقَصَتْ أَمَانَةُ عَبْدٍ إِلَّا نَقَصَ مِنْ إِيمَانِهِ»
