1059 - Muhammad ibn Ali informed me, saying: Abu Bakr al-Athram narrated to us, saying: I said to Abu Abd Allah—that is, when he said to him: 'The exception is [made] out of fear and caution'—so I said to him: 'It is as if you see no harm in not making the exception?' He said: 'If he is someone who says: Faith is speech and action, it increases and decreases, then it is easier in my view.' Then Abu Abd Allah said: 'Indeed, there are people whose hearts are too weak for the exception,' as if he were expressing astonishment at them.
