816 - Muhammad ibn Ali informed me, saying: Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-Zuhri told us, saying: I heard Ahmad ibn Hanbal when he was asked about Abu 'Abd al-Razzaq, he said: 'He was righteous in hadith regarding what he narrated from Wahb ibn Munabbih.' It was said: 'The hadith of Mina?' He said: 'Who is Mina? I have not investigated the hadith of 'Abd al-Razzaq concerning the criticism of the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Do you think that Malik ibn Anas remained safe from the people except by abandoning these hadiths? These hadiths sow malice in the heart.'
