821 - Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi informed us, saying: I said to Abu 'Abd Allah: 'I borrowed a book from a scholar of hadith, meaning it contained reprehensible hadith. Do you think I should burn it or tear it apart?' He said: 'Yes. Sallam ibn Abi Muti' indeed borrowed a book from Abu 'Awanah containing these hadith, and Sallam burned the book.' I said: 'So shall I burn it?' He said: 'Yes.'
