1171 - He said: Abu Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, saying: Abd al-Hamid narrated to us, saying: Shahr narrated to us, saying: Ibn Ghanm narrated to us, from the hadith of Mu'adh ibn Jabal, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The head of this matter is that you bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger; the support of this matter is the establishment of prayer and the giving of zakah; and the peak of its hump is jihad in the way of Allah. I have been commanded to fight the people until they establish the prayer, give the zakah, and bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. If they do that, they have protected and secured their blood and their wealth, except by its right, and their reckoning is with Allah."
