1258 - Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, he said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Zubayd al-Ayami, from Khaythamah, who said: I was beside 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr, with no one between me and him—he said: [There was] a man between me and him—and they mentioned khamr (intoxicant). A man seemed to treat it lightly, saying: "It is not among the major sins." 'Abd Allah said: "By Allah, no man drinks khamr in the morning without remaining a mushrik (polytheist) until he reaches the evening."
