1106 - Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, saying: al-Faraj narrated to us, saying: Luqman narrated to us, from al-Harith ibn Mu'awiyah, who said: "I was sitting in a circle in which Abu al-Darda' was present, and he was, at that time, warning us about the Dajjal (Antichrist). So I said: 'By Allah, someone other than the Dajjal is more feared in my soul than the Dajjal.' He said: 'And what is it that you fear in your soul more than the Dajjal?' I said: 'I fear that my faith might be stripped from me while I do not realize it.' He said: 'May your mother be devoted to you, O son of al-Kindiyyah! Do you see fifty people among the people who fear as you fear? May your mother be devoted to you, O son of al-Kindiyyah! Do you see ten people among the people who fear as you fear? May your mother be devoted to you, O son of al-Kindiyyah! Do you see three people among the people who fear as you fear? By Allah, no man has ever felt secure that his faith would not be stripped from him, except that it was stripped from him, and once it was stripped from him, he found a loss in it.'"
١١٠٦ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ: ثنا الْفَرَجُ، قَالَ: ثنا لُقْمَانُ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: إِنِّي لَجَالِسٌ فِي حَلْقَةٍ فِيهَا أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ، وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يُحَذِّرُنَا الدَّجَّالَ، فَقُلْتُ: وَاللَّهِ لَغَيْرُ الدَّجَّالِ أَخْوَفُ فِي نَفْسِي مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ. قَالَ: «وَمَا الَّذِي أَخْوَفُ فِي نَفْسِكَ مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ؟» قُلْتُ: إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُسْلَبَ مِنِّي إِيمَانِي وَلَا أَدْرِي، قَالَ: لِلَّهِ أُمُّكَ يَا ابْنَ الْكِنْدِيَّةِ، أَتَرَى فِي النَّاسِ خَمْسِينَ يَتَخَوَّفُونَ مِثْلَ مَا تَخَوَّفُ؟ لِلَّهِ أُمُّكَ يَا ابْنَ الْكِنْدِيَّةِ، أَتَرَى فِي النَّاسِ عَشَرَةً يَتَخَوَّفُونَ مِثْلَ مَا تَخَوَّفُ؟ لِلَّهِ أُمُّكَ يَا ابْنَ الْكِنْدِيَّةِ، أَتَرَى فِي النَّاسِ ثَلَاثَةً يَتَخَوَّفُونَ مِثْلَ مَا تَخَوَّفُ؟ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَمِنَ رَجُلٌ قَطُّ يُسْلَبُ مِنْهُ إِيمَانُهُ إِلَّا سُلِبَهُ، وَمَا سُلِبَهُ فَوَجَدَ لَهُ فَقْدًا "
