1129 - Abu Bakr al-Marwudhi informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Yunus narrated to us, from al-Hasan, that a man said in the presence of Ibn Mas'ud: "I am a believer." He (Ibn Mas'ud) said: "What is he saying?" He said: "He is saying: 'I am a believer'." He said: "Then ask him: Is he in Paradise?" They asked him: "Are you in Paradise?" He replied: "Allah knows best." He (Ibn Mas'ud) said: "Why did you not eat the first [statement] just as you ate the last one?"
