1579 - He said: Abu Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Isma'il narrated to us, from Layth, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Sabit, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever dies without having performed the Hajj, and there was no manifest necessity, restrictive illness, or tyrannical ruler preventing him from doing so, then let him die in whatever state he wishes: whether as a Jew or as a Christian."

١٥٧٩ - قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَحُجَّ حَجَّةً، لَمْ يَمْنَعْهُ مِنْ ذَاكَ حَاجَةٌ ظَاهِرَةٌ، أَوْ مَرَضٌ حَابِسٌ، أَوْ سُلْطَانٌ ظَالِمٌ، فَلْيَمُتْ عَلَى أَيِّ حَالٍ: إِنْ شَاءَ يَهُودِيًّا، وَإِنْ شَاءَ نَصْرَانِيًّا "
