1585 - He said: Abu Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Yazid narrated to us, saying: Hariz ibn Uthman narrated to us, saying: Our shaykhs—or he said: some of our shaykhs—narrated to us that Abu al-Darda said: "Indeed, part of a servant's understanding (fiqh) is that he knows what has increased of his faith and what has decreased from it. And indeed, part of a servant's understanding is that he knows whether he is increasing or decreasing, and indeed, part of a servant's understanding is that he knows the whisperings (nazaghat) of Satan when they come to him."
