1626 - He said: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Muhammad ibn Habban, from Abu 'Amrah, from Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani: That a man from Ashja', one of the companions of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), passed away on the day of Khaybar. This was mentioned to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), so he said: "Perform the funeral prayer over your companion." The faces of the people changed because of that, so he said: "Because your companion embezzled (ghalla) from the booty in the way of Allah." We searched his belongings and found among them some beads from the beads of the Jews that were not worth two dirhams."
١٦٢٦ - قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ⦗٦٦⦘ الْجُهَنِيِّ: أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَشْجَعَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تُوُفِّيَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ» . فَتَغَيَّرَ وُجُوهُ النَّاسِ لِذَلِكَ , فَقَالَ: «لِأَنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ غَلَّ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» . فَفَتَّشْنَا مَتَاعَهُ، فَوَجَدْنَا فِيهِ خَرَزًا مِنْ خَرَزِ يَهُودَ، مَا تُسَاوِي دِرْهَمَيْنِ
