1650 - Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Talhah, from Sa'id ibn Ka'b al-Muradi, from Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, from Ibn Mas'ud, who said: "Singing sprouts hypocrisy in the heart just as water sprouts crops, and indeed, dhikr (remembrance of Allah) sprouts faith in the heart just as water sprouts crops."
١٦٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْمُرَادِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «الْغِنَاءُ يُنْبِتُ النِّفَاقَ فِي الْقَلْبِ كَمَا يُنْبِتُ الْمَاءُ الزَّرْعَ، وَإِنَّ ⦗٧٤⦘ الذِّكْرَ يُنْبِتُ الْإِيمَانَ فِي الْقَلْبِ كَمَا يُنْبِتُ الْمَاءُ الزَّرْعَ»
