1657 - He said: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: 'Abd Allah ibn Numayr narrated to us, saying: Al-A'mash narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Murrah, from Masruq, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "There are four characteristics which, if found in anyone, he is a pure hypocrite, and whoever has one of them, he has a trait of hypocrisy until he abandons it: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a covenant, he acts treacherously; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he argues, he acts wickedly."
١٦٥٧ - قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ: الْأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَرْبَعٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ، كَانَ مُنَافِقًا خَالِصًا، وَمَنْ كَانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ ⦗٧٦⦘ مِنْهُنَّ، كَانَتْ فِيهِ خَلَّةٌ مِنْ نِفَاقٍ حَتَّى يَدَعَهَا، إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ، وَإِذَا عَاهَدَ غَدَرَ، وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ، وَإِذَا خَاصَمَ فَجَرَ»
