1732 - 'Ali ibn 'Isa informed me that Hanbal narrated to them that he heard Abu Nu'aym al-Fadl ibn Dukayn when a man said to him: "O Abu Nu'aym, this is Bishr al-Mirrisi." He said: "May Allah curse the people of deviation and misguidance. And who is Bishr al-Mirrisi? Only such a trivial person among the people speaks about this [matter], and he does not know. We ask Allah for ease and well-being for us and for you. You must adhere to the traditions (al-athar) and knowledge, to that which those of the predecessors (al-salaf) who have passed were upon."
