1741 - Abu Bakr al-Marwudhi informed us, saying: Abu Bakr al-Ramadi narrated to me, saying: I heard Muhammad ibn Mansur al-Massisi saying: I heard Sufyan ibn 'Uyayna saying: "What is this little vermin saying?"—meaning Bishr al-Mirrisi. He said: He says: "The Qur'an is created." He [Sufyan] replied: "He has lied, may Allah disgrace him. Indeed, Allah is the Creator of all things, and the Speech of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, is distinct from the creation."
