The saying of the Almighty: "Indeed, We have sent you with the truth, as a bringer of good tidings and a warner." A bringer of good tidings of Paradise, and a warner of the Fire. "And you will not be asked about the companions of the Blaze." Whoever recites it as [tas'alu] with a fatha on the ta' (in the active voice), its interpretation is: do not ask about their condition; for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked about his [father], so Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) revealed: "And do not ask about the companions of the Blaze." It is also recited in another manner: "And you will not be questioned [wa la tus'alu] about the companions of the Blaze," meaning: You will not be questioned about them once you have established the proof against them.
