"And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all," meaning: it will not avail it. "Nor will compensation be accepted from it," meaning: a ransom. "Nor will intercession benefit it," meaning: that intercession is only for the believers. "Nor will they be aided," meaning: they will be prevented from the punishment. [Verse 124-125]
﴿وَاتَّقُوا يَوْمًا لَا تَجْزِي نَفْسٌ عَن نفس شَيْئا﴾ أَي: لَا تُغني ﴿وَلا يُقْبَلُ مِنْهَا عدل﴾ أَي: فدَاء ﴿وَلا تَنْفَعُهَا شَفَاعَةٌ﴾ أَي: أَن الشَّفَاعَة لَا تكون إِلَّا للْمُؤْمِنين ﴿وَلا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ﴾ يَعْنِي: يمْنَعُونَ من الْعَذَاب. [آيَة ١٢٤ - ١٢٥]
