"Those messengers, some of whom We have favored over others." Al-Hasan said: Meaning, by what Allah granted them of prophethood and messengership. "Among them are those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degrees." He said:
﴿تِلْكَ الرُّسُلُ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَى بعض﴾ قَالَ الحَسَن: يَعْنِي: بِمَا آتَاهُم الله من النُّبُوَّة والرسالة ﴿مِنْهُمْ مَنْ كَلَّمَ الله وَرفع بَعضهم دَرَجَات﴾ قَالَ
