"O you who have believed, spend from the good things which you have earned." Al-Hasan's interpretation: This is regarding the obligatory expenditure. They used to give charity from their worst dirhams and their worst food, so Allah forbade them from that. He said: "And do not aim for the wicked," which is the inferior, "therefrom to spend," Muhammad said: "Do not aim for," meaning: Do not intend. "And you would not take it except by closing your eyes to it."
