Say: "O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty" the verse. Qatada said: "It was mentioned to us that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked his Lord to grant the kingdom of Persia and Rome to his Ummah, so Allah revealed this verse to its end."
﴿قل اللَّهُمَّ مَالك الْملك﴾ الْآيَة. قَالَ قَتَادَة: ((ذُكِرَ لَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَأَلَ ربه أَن يَجْعَل ملك فَارس وَالروم فِي أمته، فَأنْزل اللَّه هَذِه الْآيَة إِلَى آخرهَا)).
