"Then whoever argues with you about it after what has come to you of knowledge..." until the end of the verse.

Al-Kalbi said: Then they returned to the Prophet and said, "Have you heard of anyone like our companion?" He said, "Yes." They asked, "And who is he?" He replied, "Adam; Allah created him from dust." They said to him, "It is not as you say." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to them, "Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray" (nabtahil) — meaning: let us invoke curses - "and let us place the curse of Allah upon the liars" among us and among you. They said, "Yes, we will engage in mutual cursing with you." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned and took the hand of Ali, Fatimah, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn. They intended to engage in the mutual cursing, then they backed away, realizing that if they had done so, the curse would have fallen upon them, so they settled with him on the [payment of] jizyah.

Muhammad said: His statement, "Then let us pray (nabtahil)," the meaning is: let us call upon each other for cursing. (It is said: "Allah has abhalahu," meaning: Allah has cursed him.) There is another dialect for it: "bahalahu."
