"Say, 'We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants (Al-Asbat)." The Descendants (Al-Asbat): Joseph and his brothers, up to His saying: "[we are] Muslims [submitting to Him]." Al-Hasan said: This is what Allah took from His Messenger, and it was not taken from him what was taken from the prophets in His saying: "Then a messenger came to you confirming what was with you, [as for] which you must believe in him," since there is no prophet after him.
﴿قُلْ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيل وَإِسْحَاق وَيَعْقُوب والأسباط﴾ الأسباط: يُوسُف وَإِخْوَته، إِلَى قَوْله ﴿مُسلمُونَ﴾ قَالَ الْحسن: هَذَا مَا أَخذ الله على رَسُوله، وَلم يُؤْخَذ عَلَيْهِ مَا أَخذ على الْأَنْبِيَاء فِي قَوْله: ﴿ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُصَدِّقٌ لِمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ﴾ إِذْ لَا نَبِي بعده
