“Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those among you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast?” meaning: while Allah has not yet known those who struggled among you and known the steadfast.
Muhammad said: The recitation is "wa ya'lama as-sabirin" (and that He may know the steadfast) with the fatha (vowel sign) as a derivative of the jussive.
﴿أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلما يعلم الله﴾ أَي: وَلم يعلم الله ﴿الَّذِينَ جاهدوا مِنْكُم وَيعلم الصابرين﴾.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: الْقِرَاءَة ﴿وَيَعْلَمَ الصَّابِرِينَ﴾ بِالْفَتْح على الصّرْف من الْجَزْم
