"And We said, 'O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will,'" meaning there is no reckoning upon you for it.
Muhammad said: It is from the speech of the Arabs: A person is said to be 'raghuda' (to live in abundance) when he comes into fertility and ample provision. There is another dialect for it: 'arghada.' "And do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers," meaning wrongdoers to your own selves through your sin. The tree about which Adam and Hawa (Eve) were forbidden: It is the wheat stalk, according to the tafsir of Ibn Abbas.
And Qatadah said: It is the fig [and it was said: It is the grapevine].
