"Then Satan caused them to slip from it." Muhammad said: "A-zallahuma" (caused them to slip) is derived from "al-zalal" (the slip). The meaning is: He caused them to commit a slip and a sin.
Yahya said: It has reached us that Iblis entered into the snake and spoke to them from within it, and it was the most beautiful of beasts. So Allah transformed it, reversed its limbs into its belly, and made it walk upon its stomach.
It has reached us that Abu Hurayrah said: Eve is the one who guided Satan to that which they had both been forbidden from.
﴿فأزلهما الشَّيْطَان عَنْهَا﴾ قَالَ مُحَمَّد: ((أزلهما)) هُوَ من: الزلل؛ الْمَعْنى: كَسَّبَهُمَا الزَّلَّةَ والخطيئةَ.
قَالَ يَحْيَى: بلغنَا أَن إِبْلِيس دخل فِي الْحَيَّة فكلمهما مِنْهَا، وكَانت أحسن الدَّوَابّ، فمسخها اللَّه، ورد قَوَائِمهَا فِي جوفها، وأمشاها على بَطنهَا.
وبلغنا أَن أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: حَوَّاء هِيَ الَّتي دلّت الشَّيْطَان على مَا كَانَا نهيا عَنهُ.
