against the Prophet (ﷺ), “and disparagement in the religion,” meaning in Islam. “But if they had said, ‘We hear and we obey,’ and ‘Listen,’ and ‘Look upon us’” so that we may understand. “It would have been better for them and more upright” for their affairs. “But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.” Qatadah said: Few are those who believed among the Jews.
عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ﴿وطعنا فِي الدّين﴾ فِي الْإِسْلَام. ﴿وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا سمعنَا وأطعنا واسمع وانظرنا﴾ حَتَّى نتفهم. ﴿لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ وأقوم﴾ لأمرهم ﴿وَلَكِنْ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِكُفْرِهِمْ فَلَا يُؤمنُونَ إِلَّا قَلِيلا﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَة: قَلَّ من آمن من الْيَهُود.
