(In yasha' yudhhibkum ayyuha an-nas) [meaning: He shall remove you] with the punishment of total eradication. (Wa ya'ti bi-akharin) [with a people] who obey Him.
﴿إِنْ يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ﴾ [أَي: يذهبكم] بِعَذَاب الاستئصال. ﴿وَيَأْتِي بِآخَرين﴾ [بِقوم] يطيعونه.
