[Joseph] said: "Appoint me over the storehouses of the land," meaning the provisions of the land of Egypt. "Indeed, I am a guardian" of what I have been entrusted with, "knowledgeable" about what benefits them regarding their supplies.
﴿قَالَ﴾ يُوسُفُ: ﴿اجْعَلْنِي عَلَى خَزَائِنِ الأَرْضِ﴾ يَعْنِي: أَقْوَاتَ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ ﴿إِنِّي حفيظ﴾ لما وليت ﴿عليم﴾ بِمَا يصلحهم من ميرتهم
