"[He took] his brother to himself," meaning: he sheltered him. "So do not be distressed by what they used to do." Al-Hasan said: He says: Do not grieve over what happened regarding your affair.
﴿آوى إِلَيْهِ أَخَاهُ﴾ أَيْ: ضَمَّهُ ﴿فَلا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا يعْملُونَ﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: يَقُولُ: لَا تَغْتَمَّ بِمَا كَانَ من أَمرك
