"And those to whom We have given the Scripture rejoice at what has been revealed to you." Qatada's interpretation is: They are the Companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him. "And of the factions are those who deny part of it." The 'factions' here are the Jews and the Christians; they deny part of the Quran and acknowledge part of it, specifically what conforms with them.
