الترجمة · EN

"And they have plotted their plot, and with Allah is their plot," meaning: it is preserved for them until He recompenses them for it. "Though their plot was such that the mountains would move from it," and it is in the Mushaf of Ibn Mas'ud: "And their plot was not such that the mountains would move from it." Interpretation of al-Kalbi: He said: "Indeed, Nimrod, who built the tower in Babylon, wanted to gain knowledge of the heaven; so he took a chest and placed a boy in it, then he took four vultures and made them hungry, then he tied each vulture to a leg of the chest,"

﴿وَقَدْ مَكَرُوا مَكْرَهُمْ وَعِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَكْرهمْ﴾ أَيْ: محفوظٌ لَهُمْ؛ حَتَّى يُجَازِيَهُمْ بِهِ ﴿وَإِنْ كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ الْجبَال﴾ وَهِيَ فِي مُصْحَفِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ: (وَمَا كَانَ مَكْرُهُمْ لِتَزُولَ مِنْهُ الْجِبَالُ) تَفْسِيرُ الْكَلْبِيِّ: قَالَ: " إِنَّ نُمْرُوذَ الَّذِي بَنَى الصَّرْحَ بِبَابِلَ، أَرَادَ أَنْ يَعْلَمَ عِلْمَ السَّمَاءِ؛ فَعَمَدَ إِلَى تابوتٍ فَجَعَلَ فِيهِ غُلامًا، ثُمَّ عَمَدَ إِلَى نسورٍ أربعةٍ فَأَجَاعَهَا، ثُمَّ رَبَطَ كُلَّ نسرٍ بِقَائِمَةٍ مِنْ قَوَائِمِ التَّابُوتِ،
