'When Allah said, O Jesus, Son of Mary'—that is, He will say it on the Day of Resurrection.
'Remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you'—meaning: aided you.
'With the Pure Spirit'—meaning: Gabriel. 'You spoke to the people in the cradle'—meaning: in his mother's lap—'and in maturity'—that is, as a grown man. 'And when you designed from clay as the form of a bird'—meaning: in the likeness of a bird—'and you healed the blind'—meaning: the one who is born to his mother with his eyes closed.
'And when I restrained the Children of Israel from you'—up to
﴿إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَى ابْن مَرْيَم﴾ أَيْ: يَقُولُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ.
﴿اذْكُرْ نِعْمَتِي عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى وَالِدَتِكَ إِذْ أيدتك﴾ أعنتك.
﴿بِروح الْقُدس﴾ يَعْنِي: جِبْرِيلَ: ﴿تُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ فِي المهد﴾ يَعْنِي: حجر أمه ﴿وكهلا﴾ أَيْ: كَبِيرًا ﴿وَإِذْ تَخْلُقُ مِنَ الطين كَهَيئَةِ الطير﴾ يَعْنِي: كَشَبَهِ الطَّيْرِ ﴿وَتُبْرِئُ الأَكْمَهَ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْأَعْمَى [الَّذِي تَلِدُهُ] أُمُّهُ وَهُوَ مَضْمُومُ الْعَيْنَيْنِ.
